Research Study Testimonial (Studio Phi)

Stephanie Bosco is co-owner of a NEW salon & spa in Reno, NV called Studio Phi.  Her story is unique because when I first met her, she was working for another salon in a small work station with a dead-end career path.  After entering my grant study Stephanie launched a new business with her business partner, Robin Pasalich, that produced 1000% improvement in cash flow, new business opportunities and rapid career expansion in the first 6 months.  Studio Phi became an overnight success, experiencing tremendous growth and expansion even before their formal Grand Opening.  Here is their back story:

Stephanie Bosco contacted me for a residential Feng Shui assessment back in October 2010 for mostly personal reasons.  She was tired, unmotivated and bored with her job.  Her husband had health issues, Atrial Fibrillation, and was frequently in and out of the hospital and had trouble sleeping at night.  Stephanie expressed frustration and boredom in her current job working in a salon owned by someone else.  She discussed her desire to open her own business.  Stephanie told me that she and her friend, Robin Pasalich, had been "talking about it for years" but they just couldn't get any traction to move forward with their plans.  I asked Stephanie if she wanted to participate in my research study for small businesses.  She agreed.  In a relatively short period of time, Stephanie and Robin have launched their new salon & spa and it has been a big success.

Paula Leyba is a professional photographer that has been in business for 14 years.  She has had the same photography studio in Reno, NV for the past 9 years.  She entered the study in March of 2011 because she felt her business "needed something to get the energy moving in a new direction".  As Paula explained, "In 2010 I experienced a lot of stagnation in business and cash flow."  After implementing Feng Shui recommendations, she documented a 50% improvement in business revenue.

Research Study Testimonial (Bryan and Jennifer Meehan)

This testimonial speaks to the fact that having a single, long-term business focus is NOT a requirement for Feng Shui adjustments to work.  It also addresses the fact that when one or more of the traditional business markers we track in this study (eg. cash flow) start to improve, other personal markers (eg. health and well-being) tend to improve as well.  It is important to note that both Bryan and Jennifer were in agreement about making Feng Shui adjustments to their environment to improve their success potentials.  And both remained proactive with making the recommended adjustments during their 6 month study participation. These two factors are critically important issues that can either enhance or reduce "results" over the 6 month participation period.  Bryan and Jennifer Meehan reported a 300% increase in business revenues for Hi-Tide Solutions audio visual business during their participation.  Here's their back story:

When I first engaged the Meehans about participation in my research study back in April 2011, they were running multiple businesses from home: 1) Amazon Herbs (Jennifer);  2) Life Coach and Reno Area Marketing Coordinator for Seminars that Inspire (Jennifer); and 3) Hi-Tide Solutions audio visual company (Bryan).  Their reason for joining the study: to improve results in their multiple business ventures, as well as in their personal lives.  Their initial survey (filled out before implementing any Feng Shui recommendations) indicated that many aspects of their finances had gone into decline over the past 6 months - 1 year.  They had started new businesses during this time and although they were happier with the new career directions, their cash flow was low.  Stress was high and both felt uncomfortable with many aspects of their working and living spaces, which contributed to their stress levels.

Research Study Testimonial (Abe-L-Bodies Corporation)

Judy Ishibashi, OTR/L is a physical therapist that works with adults and children who have had severe injuries and/or debilitating diseases that affect motor skills.  She had been a Feng Shui client of mine in the past.  However, we had not done any work together for several years.  Her business, Abe-L-Bodies Corporation, started my research project in May 2010.  During her participation in my study their cash flow improved by approximately 70%.  Here's her back story:

Judy Ishibashi, OTR/L became part of my research project for small businesses because the economic decline had impacted her business in many ways.  Changes to insurance billing guidelines had severely slowed cash flow.  Existing patients feeling the financial crisis had less discretionary income to allocate toward physical therapy sessions.  And it was becoming harder and harder to keep competent staff.  As Judy explained on her Pre Evaluation Survey":
        "This was a difficult year for our upbeat staff because we lost 2 therapists for reasons beyond
         our control.  We continue to be a small facility that is unable to match the salaries offered by
        larger groups.  We need cash flow improvement..."

After Feng Shui adjustments were made, the following improvements were documented in writing after only the first two months: 1) we were able to make payroll without borrowing from Judy; 2) after a year of trying to collect on past due accounts, money started flowing into Accounts Receivable; 3) cash flow improved by approximately 70%; 4) communication between staff members and patient families improved by 60%, with a noted smoother flow of contact information and mutual support; 5) Judy was able to take salary distribution for the first time in a year; 6) improvement in patient focus and mind-body coordination were noted during therapy sessions.

Linda McLean is the CEO and Founder of McLean International, LLC, an international business and life coaching practice.  She entered the research study in July of 2010.   Linda stated that her average monthly revenue growth during the study increased by 195%.  Here's her back story:

Amy Lewis, BS, CST-T, LMT is a Certified CranioSacral Therapist.  Her therapeutic focus is working with patients that have chronic pain.  Her case study is unique because she started the research project in one leased office and ended the study in an entirely new leased space.  Amy reported a 1000% Return on Investment because of dramatic turn around in cash flow, new business, increased client load, and rapid expansion of new business opportunities during her participation in the study Here is her back story:

Amy Lewis is one of my research study participants that is already familiar with Feng Shui.  Over several years she and her husband have continued to hire me to perform Feng Shui audits for their private residences and rental properties.  When she learned about my research grant study, she was very excited about the prospect of having her business participate in my project.  She wanted to include her leased office space for her private practice, that I had not yet evaluated, in the study.  We started the project with the office space that she was currently leasing at the time.   She started implementing Feng Shui recommendations that I gave her from my site evaluation at the end of 2010.  Her first follow up survey indicated a 20% improvement in cash flow within 1-2 months.     

Amy contacted me regarding another leased office that had come available in her commercial complex.  Although she did NOT want to move, her leasing manager informed her of this opening and she asked me to advise her regarding how this space compared to her existing space.  I completed a full Feng Shui evaluation on the new space and recommended that she move into it immediately because it had much stronger cash flow and business expansion potentials.  She followed my advice and completed the research project in her new space.  Halfway into 2011 she was reporting even more dramatic results on her follow up surveys from the new office.  Her cash flow markers kept improving as well as her ability to generate money and the expansion of her networking contacts and recognition for her work.

Research Study Testimonial (Natura Med: Natural Family Medicine)

Dr. Ann Sura and her husband, Dr. Mark  Sura, started Natura Med in October 2010 during an economic decline.  Although committed to providing high quality medical services to the Lake Tahoe area, the timing of  opening their practice created concerns for both doctors.  Nevertheless, they achieved 60%-70% improvement in cash flow and new clients during their participation period in my research project.  Here's their back story:

I met with them and their staff in January 2011, when they began their participation period.   At that time, they indicated that receivables from the practice were declining, which caused them to feel anxiety about the future.  I specified Feng Shui adjustments for their medical practice office, as well as their private residence.  Their case is unique because they reported "immediate" results, the same week Feng Shui adjustments were installed.  They reported that business increased significantly within a few days and that everyone in the office could "feel the energy shifts" that took place after Feng Shui changes were made--it was that palpable.  Their patient load continued to increase over the study period, except as noted in their written surveys:

Dr. Ann Sura commented on her Exit Survey that taking part in this study created an 80% improvement to their working environment, which not only generated more cash flow for the practice, but also improved day to day working conditions for the entire staff.

Research Study Testimonial (Law Offices of Amy N. Tirre, A Professional Corporation)

Amy Tirre is a sole practitioner lawyer who opted to have both her residence and her law office included in the research study.   As Amy explained "It is critical to my business that I have new clients consistently contacting me for legal representation because that translates into money for my services."  When I first interviewed Ms. Tirre, she indicated that although she had built a sustainable practice she had some anxiety about the future because of the declining economy.  She was looking for a new success strategy that could help her improve the "consistency" of new clients and cash flow.  After she joined the research project, Amy reported 20% improvement in her business cash flow.

Research Study Testimonial (The Finley Center)

The Finley Center is a medical services company specializing in: 1) electro-acupuncture; 2) cosmetic acupuncture; 3) adult and pediatric acupuncture; 4) preconception planning & fertility support; 5) holistic & preventative pediatric care;6) bio-identical hormone counseling and supplementation; 7) medical nutritional supplementation; 8) structured weight loss programs; 9) physical therapy; 10) manual therapy and 11) structured fitness programs.  Dr. Tara Finley, O.M.D., N.D.  and her husband Brian Finley, P.T., O.C.S., F.A.A.O.M.P.T. are the managing medical partners.  The Finley Center entered the study in July 2010.  They reported a 30%-45% overall cash flow improvement over the 6 month period. Here is their back story:

In the Pre Evaluation Survey, Dr. Tara Finley indicated that although she had built a successful private practice, the center's numbers were down in the last two years.  She felt cash flow had "stagnated".  One of her primary objectives during the study was to increase patient numbers for her husband Brian's physical therapy practice, which was part of the center's revenue stream.  Another goal was to do more "preventative" medicine and "wellness programs" through the center's outreach to the community.

With the implementation of Real Estate Success Strategies based on Feng Shui principles, the medical practice reported improvements as: 1) 30-45% overall increase in cash flow;  2) Brian's patient numbers, although still fluctuating, showed an overall increase of 15% (as much as 30% increase some weeks).

Research Study Testimonial (Elise Fett & Associates LTD)

Elise Fett & Associates, LTD is an architectural-engineering firm in Crystal Bay, NV serving high end residential clients in the Lake Tahoe area.  The firm entered the research study in January 2011.   Their first follow up survey documented 134% cash flow increase in the first three months.  Here's their back story:

Ms. Fett had built a successful architectural business but had taken time away from work in the last 6 months to focus on other pressing matters, including selling a family home.  This had impacted her cash flow and business focus.  Issues that were discussed prior to entering the study included: 1) the need to sell an estate property that had been on the market for some time;  2) refocusing the architectural business for more efficiency; 3) paying off loans; 4) balancing work and family relationships.

This case is noteworthy because major improvements were documented as early as the first 2-3 months (after Feng Shui protocols were implemented); AND client submitted a profit loss statement to document 134% cash flow increase in the first three months (Jan.-Mar. 2011).  Improvements were noted
 
in: 1) salary and cash flow; 2) ability to generate money; 3) satisfaction with money matters; 4) financial securityThe client documented that the high end property they owned and had been trying to sell for a year  had sold during their participation and implementation of Feng Shui protocols, and escrow was closed at FULL PRICE.  The client also noted that since they would be involved with financing for the new buyers, additional money would be made on the "interest".  They also reported that two new contracts were signed with clients of the architectural business and that they were receiving additional cash flows through another business

Written follow ups documented: 1) 134% improvement in cash flow; 2) 50% improvement in vitality and energy level; 3) 50% improvement in personal empowerment; 4) 50% improvement in satisfaction and happiness due to significant stress reduction.   Elise Fett reported that her clients were happy, new work was coming in, the major work of selling a family home in a depressed real estate market was over, and money was flowing from several different income streamsFamily members and staff were also more supportive

At this point in the study, Elise Fett & Associates had implemented 60% - 80% of the recommended Feng Shui adjustments and the study was only halfway completed, so there was still room for additional improvement.
